This is a refined Italian seal that consists of a waxed turned wooden handle and a bronze disc engraved with the "Yin" and "Yang" symbol.

The symbol of Yin and Yang has been well known in the Western world since the end of the 20th century. Yin, represented in black, evokes, among other things, the feminine principle, the moon, darkness, freshness, receptivity, etc. Yang, on the other hand (revealing the white background), represents, among other things, the masculine principle, the sun, luminosity, heat, momentum, etc. This duality, which is not at all Manichean, can also be associated with many other complementary oppositions (such as suffering / enjoyment; aversion / desire; agitation / calm; roundness / angularity; etc.).
