Ref: 0009930-11: "Peace" Seal

This is a refined Italian seal that consists of a waxed turned wooden handle and a bronze disc engraved with the "Peace" symbol.

The peace symbol " ☮ " was actually, at the time of its creation, the emblem of opponents of nuclear weapons. It was created on February 21, 1958, by Gerald Holtom, an artist who was a member of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.
It has become the emblem of peace, non-violence and pacifism.
Its designer based this symbol on the British semaphore code, where the two branches pointing left and right mean "N" and the central bar "D", for "Nuclear Disarmament ^".

Total length of the sealing stamp: 9.5 cm.
Length of the bronze piece screwed to the end of the handle, on which the pellet fits: 1.7 cm.
Diameter of the bronze pellet: 22.5 mm.
Diameter of the screw thread of the pellet: 4 mm.
