This is a fine Italian seal that features a waxed turned wooden handle and a bronze disc engraved with a Phoenix.

The phoenix, or phoenix (from ancient Greek φοῖνιξ ( purple red) , is a legendary bird, endowed with great longevity and characterized by the power to be reborn after being consumed in flames.
