A little history...
The Herbin Company was founded in 1670 in Paris, near the towers of Notre-Dame. Ink production began during the First French Empire. Napoleon Bonaparte used these inks, and later his son, the King of Rome.
During the 19th century, Herbin participated in major international exhibitions, including the London Exhibition of 1823, where the company received a medal for the exceptional quality of its inks and waxes. Herbin inks are still recognized worldwide today.
To celebrate the brand's 340th anniversary, we are offering you "Rouge 1670" ink, specially designed for the occasion.

Scarlet red in color , slightly brownish thanks to its golden glitter, this ink is intense and powerful, it gives majesty and elegance to your writings. It recalls the historic color of the Herbin Logo and the wax used to seal royal edicts.

50 ml glass bottle.

The ink is suitable for all uses: dip pen, fountain pen, quill pen, reed pen, brush... The stopper is covered with red sealing wax, and a colored "1670" wax seal decorates each bottle.

Made in France.

Hieroglyphics Tips and Tricks

This ink must be "warmed" by squeezing the bottle between your hands. It is advisable to quickly use a pipette to maintain the same density of glitter throughout writing.
Without this little trick, it will be necessary to recap the bottle and shake it for a few moments so that the glitter is suspended in the ink again.

Ink for fountain pen and nib holder.
Never mix two inks of different types.
If you are not going to use your fountain pen for a few days, it is best to empty it, clean the converter and then add the ink.
