A little history...
The Herbin Company was founded in 1670 in Paris, near the towers of Notre-Dame. Ink production began during the First French Empire. Napoleon Bonaparte used these inks, and later his son, the King of Rome.
During the 19th century, Herbin participated in major international exhibitions, including that of London in 1823, during which the Company was awarded a medal for the exceptional quality of its inks and waxes.
Today, Herbin inks are still recognized worldwide. To celebrate the brand's 340th anniversary, we offer "1670" inks, specially designed for the occasion.

THE deep brown "Cyprus Carob" ink is covered with fiery-colored reflections, which give brilliance to your writing. Carob is cultivated in many countries including Cyprus where it was once called "Black Gold" because, according to legend, its therapeutic virtues which promised long life to those who consumed it.

These inks also exist in Red, Ocean Blue, Storm Gray and Emerald Green.


50 ml glass bottle.
The ink is suitable for all uses: dip pen, fountain pen, quill pen, reed pen, brush, etc.
The stopper is covered with brown sealing wax, and a brown "1670" wax seal adorns each bottle.
